means that you'd be betting that NE loses to TEN by 6pts or more?

No, NE -6.0 vs TEN means if you bet on NE they have to win my more than 6 points to make money. 6 pts would break even and losing the game or winning by less than 6 points would lose your money
Ten +6.0 @ NE means the game is at NE and you are picking the Titans to either win the game or to lose by less than 6 points.

if ya bet against the chiefs, prepare to be in the poorhouse...no way they are gonna lose this one. Undefeated at home this year.

As big as a Pats fan that I am, I'd bet the farm on Ten +6. I'm expecting this to be a really tight, close game, but with the Pats pulling it out, by less than 6 points of course.
