POLL: Best $1000 solution?

which is the better solution?

32 inch 720p LCD TV + xbox 360

24 inch dell 2407 + 360

Pros with TV:
Bigger, also will be used for TV watching

Cons w/ TV:
720p is pretty useless as a monitor

Pros with 2407:
good monitor that doubles as TV

Cons:
On the small side for a TV
360 compatibility may be an issue?

I have a 32 inch LCD HDTV and Its not useless at all for a primary Monitor. Sure its a tad big, but its crisp and the colors look great. Best thing I bought because I love watching TV/ andHDTV and play games on it.

i didnt mean useless because it was too big. I couldnt use a 720p TV for a monitor because the resolution is much too low for my tastes.

720p is ok for a monitor, text can be an issue as I like higher resolutions too but it's alright. Games and Movies look great. It mainly depends how close you'll be to it. If it's on your desk you won't like it so much as a monitor. If you have a wireless keyboard and mouse and sit on a couch a little ways back it'll work great.

2407+360, easily. BenQ FP241W+360, actually, if you can get that for <$1000 anywhere. I doubt that you will be happy with the connectivity that an LCD TV would offer. Scaling for desktop usage = 🙁 HTPCs like the Westinghouse Yreka mentioned have perfect PC connectivity, though, and are a much better choice.

Can the 360 run 1080p?

Even if it could render 1080p, arent component cables limited to 1080i? AFAIK the 360 has no DVI or HDMI solution.

XB360 will play HD-DVDs, and Upconvert Standard DVDs to 1080P as long as you use the optional VGA cable.
Not too sure about the games themselves. The site says it will also support 1080P on"compatible" games, but AFAIK they dont exist yet
