Poll: Before or After redesign, which is better.

I like the before design better - my eyes are directed more evenly around the site - on the after pic, the yellow is very intrusive to the composition, IMO.
 
Yea, I don't like the yellow thing. It seems out of place, and before I read it I thought it was gonna be advertising.
 
Before - It gets the reader hooked on the content, then, if they are interested, they will figure out how to sign up.
