Yeah, that's where my great grandfather was from. He was considered a visionary. My great grandmother came from Asturias. I've got antique family pictures that were taken of everyone in Spain. The last person to visit was my great aunt... she knew everyone over there, and she would go see them every few years. She died 2 years ago, though.
They wouldn't know me but if they saw me they would see the family resemblance. It's freaky. I definitely take after that side of the family, in many many ways. I've kept track of all the family history, names and stuff... it's like a fire inside of me.
I hope to go myself one day....
BTW, the family connection is so strong that my oldest daughter was born---totally naturally---on my Gallego grandfather's birthday anniversary. Which also happens to be the anniversary of my Asturiana grandmother's death. And she looks even more like them than I do!
I always like to share this picture... naturally, I spent a LOT of time visiting the graveyard as a child. It's a Spanish thing.

Speaking of which, I am hungry. I even have some leftover Caldo Gallego in the fridge...
Edit:
That didn't seem to work. I am going to start a thread at GG's and post it there... here's that link:
