\POLL: Autotrader or local paper for the quick sell?

StageLeft

No Lifer
Local paper is $65. Autotrader is $40. It's cheaper, but expediency in selling a vehicle is preferred, so price is no object. The ideal approach would be both, but then I guess price is an object, so I can pick only one.

EDIT: I'm going with the paper. I see it gets 3-4 cars like mine a DAY, whereas autotrader only has 15 or so in its entirety. Obviously a heck of a lot more action is going on with the local paper!

Well the advantage to AutoTrader is that your car will also be on their website, with a pic. I don't know if you'll get that from the newspaper.

If you want a quick sell, lower your price. Otherwise I don't think either one would be better than another. But if you put up a good ad, Autotrader will filter out more of the people who aren't really looking for what you have. With the paper you'll be answering the same questions over and over again.

PLEASE make a semi competent add. There's nothing I love more than a car add that tells me the A/C blows cold, but leaves out things like oh I dunno, THE MILEAGE.

Pic is free on their web version only. I just talked with a co-worker and I'nm heavily leaning towards the paper. I know it's the first spot for _serious_ buyers. I see a lot of people wasting time with car buying. They don't really want a car, but they enjoy car shopping. That wastes everyone's time, but with the paper I think it's less likely. Also, people without internet access or knowledge of autotrader obviously can't use it. It has the advantage of allowing me to adjust price and have it until it sells, but I think a lot more people see the paper.

See my sig. I see people selling cars and they don't list things like, oh, the PRICE. I've seen many not listing mileage, and many not listing the tranny. Miles, tranny, price are the key things.
