POLL: Audigy2 Vs. Soundstorm (Digital)

My NF7-S has optical out and my Radio/CD/Cassette Surround Sound thingymijig has a digital in (not optical).

To hook up my Soundstorm, its gonna cost me around £30-35 for the optical -> wire converter and the cables.

If I go for an Audigy2- OEM, assuming i only need 1 cable will cost me around £60.. inc 1 cable and p&p.

I also want to watch the Newcastle United Vs. PSV Eindhoven match at St. James in the UEFA Cup..... which I couldnt do if I got an Audigy2. Assuming I have speakers of a reasonable quality and used Digital Outputs on both, would the Audigy2 produce a profound enough performance difference?

Assuming that the Audigy2 is also optical out, what would be better? Audigy2 using Analogue or Soundstorm using Digital?

I had terrific luck running my digital BA7500s off of the SoundStorm on my A7N8X Deluxe, but a horrible time running analog speakers off of it. My analog Z-5300s sound awesome on the Audigy 2, though. If it was me, I'd keep the onboard and go watch some football. 🙂

Thanks for the opinion and thanks for calling it Football. I get a little bit wound up by people calling it soccer but thats another story.

I should look into my speakers.... my whateveryoucallit is a Sharp CD-PC651. Ill take a look at it and post some linkies if I can.... perhaps it will help people decide or provide more accurate advice.
