nVidia is tempting with the release of its latest very high-performing graphics cards, but then again, ATi is going pretty strong these days as well

i'm an nvidia fan, but ati is really kicking their ass right now... plus they're canadian. w00t 🙂

You have seen the 6800U specs and benchmarks, right?

I'd buy stock in nVidia, due to their successful branching into other markets such as communications and chipsets. Plus, their graphics card division has been more consistently succesful than ATIs over the past 6 years or so.

???

ATI: 11 Product Categories

nVidia: 9 Product Categories

I haven't been watching nVidia for the past year (nv30 days) but I would guess their stock went down (since nv30 sucked). If so, I would guess that it is undervalued. ATI has been doing well on sales and more than likely is at the top end of what their stock is worth. Using this theory Nvidia more than likely has more ground to move UP than ATI, meaning more profit. However I haven?t done my homework on the companies so don't put your life savings into my post.

If I had actually invested my money into nVidia when they IPO'ed instead of putting it into my 401k... well... sometimes knowledge of the sector means you can reap rewards in the long term.
