Voted no. I'll probably get a 360 at some point, but I'm not even close to being in a hurry. Maybe this time next year.

I already have a gaming system for grown-ups called a PC.

How does playing games on a computer instead of a console make you more grown up? 😕

Because he likes to make himself stand out as an adult? To me it makes no sense ethier

I am torn between all three consoles... The X-Box in my opinion does not have as many good games on it for me to justify the price. The Wii sounds cool but I do not know how it will be with you flailing your arms everywhere just to play a game but even though you really can just sit down and barely move your arm and play normally (with the exception of boss fights) according to Nintendo. I do not think there are very many good titles that are going to be on the Nintendo Wii. I am leaning more towards a Ps3 because in the past always most of the good games have all come out on the Ps3 or both Ps3 and X-Box.

My opinions may differ from your opinions so do not take this as fact! This is just what I know and I say now that I do not know everything.

That being said can you play the legacy games such as Mario Kart for the 64 if that is offered as a download on the Wii on the internet with your other friends who have the same ROM or can you share the ROM with him or not at all?

I was planning on getting a Ps3 and a Wii and not a 360 at all...

Actually the older I've gotten (31 next month 🙁 ) the more I've gravitated towards consoles, because I've lost my desire to tinker with PC's just for games. Unlike when I was younger and had time to mess with computers, now I just want something I can flip on and play a game when I get some free time.
I don't understand this mentality, as once you have a computer up and running good, you can do exactly that with it - flip it on, launch a game, and go. The only times it requires "tinkering" and messing with it is when you're upgrading, which should be a pretty isolated event, and when problems occur, which also hopefully is pretty rare. Not like problems DON'T happen with consoles, especially the more modern ones.

what if i wanted to play nba 2k7 with 4 friends 🙁
4 USB controllers? But yeah, consoles are better for sports titles, I'll admit that. I never play them.

What's there not to understand? I'm done with upgrading hardware, installing drivers because of some crash, tweaking settings for performance, etc, all the crap I used to do. I deal with computers all day long as a job, I'd rather just come home and sit on the couch playing a game on my 51" HDTV rather than sit in front of a computer. I haven't turned on my former gaming rig (now horribly out of date) for months, I just use my laptop for web browsing and email now.

If I like my friend's Wii I'll get one.

Same here.

Yeah, I'm buying a Wii for my niece and nephew right away, but I'll have to see about getting one for myself. I'm sketptical about the new controller(s). It might be a cool thing that wears off, but I hope not.

Anyway, I'll probably own all of them again at some point, just like I did last generation 🙂

Well, wanting to sit on your couch and use your huge TV is a great reason to want to use a console. And being tired of a PC from work is also a good reason.

But, upgrading hardware? Once every couple years. Installing drivers? Couple minutes. Tweaking settings? I rarely do. None of those things seem like very large obstacles to gaming on a PC to me. And no, I'm not a kid in high school who has oodles of free time.
