Just after it comes out I will pick up a copy of Win2K and 98SE (everybody will be switching over to XP) and I will stay with that until (1) I can use it as I wish without MS looking over my shoulder (when I upgrade) (2) when I can actually own it rather than "rent" it and (3) when all the bugs have been worked out.
already have RC1 on a dual boot with my win2k.... XP seems to be a decent OS.... except for the BS... I've considered going to RC2 (I'm part of the $10 preview program) but I understand it has features enabled that may conflict with 'non XP compliant apps' so I haven't bothered installing it.
When a critical mass of people switch over, I probably will too. I'm still very, very satisfied with Windows 2000, so I won't be in line on release day. The critical mass is just finally happening with W2K, so what's MS's big hurry?
