Are you afraid that terrorists will attack where you live?

Do you fear that, someday, those violent and lunatic terrorists will kill you either directly or indirectly through biological, chemical, or nuclear weapons?

I think it's a real possibility and I sure hope they don't attack where I live.

If the US decides to nuke Afganistan, Libya, and Iraq to get rid of all those terrorists, I would be completely in support of it. However the collatoral deaths would be in the millions, and that's too many innocent lives.

Considering that I live up the road from Macdill Air Force Base where central command is located I know it will probably happen one day.

I am sure that Ames, IA will be their first target ;)

So, no, I'm not really worried about it for now.

Just look at all the stuff around you that the government feels is important. I live approximately 120 miles from a plant that make nuclear weapons components, 90 miles from a VERY large nerve gas storage facility, 40 miles from Fort Knox, and a few other things.

A terrorist could possibly strike any of these. My area would be effected by any of them. If not physically, my regious would most definitely be adversely effected economically.

I'm about 20 miles from NYC. I figure when the nukes go off I won't have time to kiss my ass goodbye before I'm dust.

So YES I'm afraid for my family and myself.

Haha. Here in Iowa. What are they going to do? Hold our corn ransom?

I live right by Niagara Falls, and if you didnt know, if you live on the east coast, you get your power from the falls.
Am I worried? No.
Because they have pea shooter bomb that cant even dream of making it to the US coast.

My area already had an arson at a Temple at the peak of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict- you probably saw it on the news- it wasn't my Temple, but it hits quite close to home! :Q

New Hampshire. If anything I should fear going to the same schools as the Terrorist Trainees are. They could put the population of Mexico City in these woods and no one would notice the difference

<< Living in Canada, i fear no terrorist. >>

The US is destined to invade your country. We will leave nothing left. No reindeer, no lemmings, no poutine. Fear us.

btw, terrorism is weird. What do they hope to accomplish? If it's to "convince" people to tell their governments not to mess with certain countries and groups it obviously never works out that way. You bomb and cause loss of life and people back their governments even more and lean on 'em to go after the terrorists.

There are so many wacked people that anything can happen. Terrorist have no regard for life and will kill without giving it a second thought. That is pretty much reality. I think we have been fortunate in this country so far. In other countries, terrorism is a harsh reality of daily life. Ofcourse, there are both foreign and domestic terrorists.

Is there a whole lot we can do about it? Not really.

how do you know that most terrorist attacks aren't just staged by the government? either to get support for the gov. or giving them some substance to frame a wanted criminal? Just food for thought, could be the same with the US sub & Jap. boat the other day. Like Orwell's 1984...

I live in the south. If anything happened here, there would be a redneck on top of every building with a hunting rifle just waiting to pick off anyone that remotely resembled a terrorist.

You would see more shotguns and rifles being toted around in gun racks in the back windows of trucks, and more permits being issued for handguns.

Patty, I have a challenge for you.

Go post a sign in front of your house/apartment, that states:

This home is happily gun free. We own no firearms whatsoever.

I don't really see terrorists bombing Wisconsin anytime soon. But hey, if they think we're important enough, go ahead.

I'm not going to loose sleep over it. I should hope the USA has the situation under control.

Nothing in Dallas, TX to blow up except the 2nd largest telecommunication corridor of the nation...hmmmm maybe that is something to blow up :)
