Poll: Are you afraid of death, dying, or both?

I'm afraid of the unknown after death. I'm afraid of leaving a family behind that I hold dearly to my heart. I'm just afraid that there is nothing after death and that it sucks to be dead cuz you ain't coming back and nothing more will happen. You're just gone another piece of dust if you were creamated, another rotting body in a coffin if you aren't.

Yeah tell me about it, no one lives forever...........

Being afraid of death is what keeps us alive. One may suppose that people without a fear of, or at least an appropriate respect for, death have a hugely increased risk of dying.

Bullshit.

I am alive because I don't feel like committing suicide and because medical science can cure ailments that used to kill you. When my time comes that's it. Why would I care? I am not going to know about it.

I don't respect life or death. It just happens.

Don't get too excited, my mailorder supply of Ajax condoms hasn't arrived yet.

I used to be afraid, but got over that a long time ago. If you mean fear death as a concept, then no I do not. However if you mean fear as in having an instinct for survival, then I have that. I understand that randomly walking off a cliff is a bad thing. In this context you would be equating lack of fear and stupidity, however they are not altogether the same.

don't mind. Why should I be frightened of dying?
There's no reason for it, you've gotta go sometime."

"I never said I was frightened of dying."

I was referring to fear of death itself as more of a mystical/religious thing. You could fear for the end of your soul, the end of life, etc

Why worry about it. If I had a set day, and I knew it was about a month or so off I would start worrying. However, no one knows when they will die (unless they are planning suicide), so might as well live it up!🙂
