POLL: Are you a reader?

i'm not in school. i work full-time and read on the train to work but my commute isn't that long and sometimes i sleep.

probably a new book every month or so. unless, i get a new magazine in the mail or get into a swing of watching a bunch of shows on my psp. then it's more like a new book every 3-4 months.

From advice in a thread here, I recently read A Fire Upon The Deep, Altered Carbon and Ancient Shores. The latter was a total piece of crap, but the first two were quite good.

I read a book about once every 2-3 years - and when I do, it's more times than not sports related. Like the last two were Jose Canseco's Juiced, and Moneyball.

The only thing I hate is when I get whooped in boggle or scrabble by friends who do read alot to know all the stupid words that no one else in their right mings would ever know.

Yes, I think I'll get into some non fiction stuff after I'm through the Death Gate Cycle series and some Tolstoy...probably in a couple months. I'm usually reading a couple books at once.

I read a decent amount but not because I'm a student. Generally the text books that I'm supposed to buy aren't useful at all.

Most of my reading is non-fiction.

i love to read, i do most of my reading over the summer tho, school's too busy with all the required books i have to read. i usually try and read around 5-8 books a year on my own and more if i can
