POLL: Are you a packrat?

If you have to think about it, you're probably not. 😛
If you're trying to qualify all the crap you still have as "it's not crap" - you probably are.

You need to own things to be a packrat. I own nothing but a few articles of clothing, a bed and an assload of books.

Until recently, I could, and frequently did, pack my life into the trunk of my Civic.

Being settled in one place is kinda creepy for me. Thankfully I'll be moving out of my apartment in a few months (barring any natural disasters) so that should satiate my nomadic urges. 😀

I have so much useless stuff I never touch. Loads of games that I bought but never play. Magazines that I only look at the cover but never open, ie Stuff, Maxim, FHM, Mens Health, Esquire, Sporting News, Hollywood Life, Entertainment Weekly, and so many other free magazine offers.

Absolutely not. I hate keeping useless junk around on the off chance i might need it 3 years from now

It depends what the content is, for me.

Computer related stuff... depends on age. If there is any hope that it might be used in the next year, I'll keep it. Otherwise, I throw it out or give it away.
The files on my hard drive... I'm definitely a pack rat. I delete very very little. I think I'm up to 1100 GB of available storage now... not sure how much of that is used.

As for everything else... I couldn't care less.

I'm converted... I used to be a mega packrat. We had a house fire when I was 13 or so. Losing everything made me into a packrat for about 10 years. I'm over it now but I do collect certain things to fill the void.

Excluding files, no. I go through the house twice a year at least and throw away/donate/or sell a ton of crap.

I'm somewhat a packrat. I save all my retail boxes and boxes that would be good for shipping just in case I sell some of my items.

People love to receive items in retail boxes.

I am. I even keep the original packaging of things I buy, unless it's that hard plastic shite. I have a full closet full of empty boxes of electronics i've bought.
