Personally I am neither a geek or a nerd! I just love my duallie comp, and my new cordless keyboard, and my MOUSE of course (cordless too= no tail ).

Our society is more geek friendly. There are plenty of cool geeks because their weird interests coupled with a decent amount of social skills allows them a certain amount of respect. They obsess over certain things in a "cool" sort of way. Nerds just obsess...

a more perplexing question is what is the difference between a nerd and a dork... Ive found the answer is this... a dork looks (i.e. shaggy hair, pale complection) like a comp nerd, but has no real computer skills, and is very 'squirly' when playing video games.

I think dork and geek are interchangable

I think of myself as a geek, and am proud of it actually. My wife on the other hand calls me many other sort of things. And geek or nerd would be seen as positive by comparison.
