I hear ya. I finally realized how much I was spending, often $1000 a week or more, on stuff I didn't really even need and so I'm trying to just... stop. But damn... it's hard I figure once I get used to living in moderation, I'll be fine.

Have you ever visited the Hot Deals forum? If you did, you wouldn't need to ask :D

I guess I can say this, I do not have any sort of credit card, I pay either debit/cash for everything that I buy.

Not really, though I do make an effort to avoid malls so I wont tempt myself.
Also, I really hate malls.

I'm pretty much the opposite... I don't even buy things that I need. (clothes, new contacts and glasses w/ an eye exam).

I'm a compulsive yet indecisive buyer :p. It may sound odd, but I'll pick up something random with the intention of buying it... sit there for a good 10-15 minutes thinking "well, do I really want this..." and then eventually buy it... sometimes after consulting friends about whether or not I should get it :p.

Compulsive? Yes, but they're all good deals.

Yesterday I spent $30 bucks. I got two jackets for my GF, and a pair of noise isolation earbuds.

I'm like the exact opposite.

I will be like "okay I want this ... it's $800"

And then I'll save my $800, and when I have it in hand, I'm like "hmmm ... do I REALLY want to spend $800 on THAT?"

And then I'm in more confusion :(

But I'll usually end up getting whatever it was and am happy with it.

I decided I would never buy anything substantial on impulse. If it was over $50, I'd have to wait until at least the next day to buy.

Turns out I hardly ever followed through - decided I didn't really want it, found something better somewhere else, whatever. The enforced delay system has saved me thousands of dollars.

Even so, I still have too much stuff and try not to buy more.

Only if it is something that I need or know of an upcoming use for.

I have a tally going all the time of things that I would like to get. When I see a great deal on them, I go for it,

Sometimes, but not stuff over $50. Usually on stuff at the grocery store, but then again thats food and I would need to eat anyway so..other that stuff I only buy if I need it, or better yet wait for someone to gift it to me :p
