POLL: Are the words "noob" and "owned" being abused now a days?

Seems now a days everywhere on the internet, these two words are being ABUSED by everyone and their moms. Usually when one uses the word n00b they to themselves are a n00b.

After playing halo 2 for 3 months I think i have heard noob and own more times on xbox live than i can handle!!!

so are these words being abused and are you sick of hearing them? or do you still like them?

i do realize that i am a n3wbi3 and am going to get pwned in this thread ...
 
I believe both are being used too much, but I don't blame people, they're both great words. The words are irreplaceable, and carry no equal. We will continue to use them.
 
On a related note...has anyone passed some one driving slow and called them a n00b? Or blocked a lane change by an SUV and yelled "PWNED!"? Because I know I have.

Yes, in a little different situation however. I also do not believe the word is overused, SPIDER however, is.

The beginning of the internet universe did not start in CS btw.. these terms were used LONG before that... 1996 in UO eveyrone used this crap..

btw its not over used... there are just so many more n00bs to Pwn these days...

Keyword is overused. It did become overused in CS once the noobs started calling the guys kicking ass aim-cheating noobs.

no but when you hear 10 year olds on xbox live screaming "i owned you noob" when they kill you 1 time in Halo 2, after the 5 times you just killed them, it gets kind of annoying.

the worst is in the post game lobbies ... god that is where you hear those words CONSTANTLY in high pitched 10 year old voices. that gets annoying.

What's sad is that 90% of the people I know that use them have no clue what the origins of the words are.
