For an AMD 64 3400+ rig with an Asus K8V-SE Deluxe mobo, & 6800 GT card, which case would you choose of the three? The Antec Performance case, Sonata, or Antec Performance Plus View? The Performance Plus series is taller and more room, bigger psu, and is supposed to be cooler than the Sonata. Would the Performance Plus case be more of a server type case than a gaming/desktop rig? All are nice, I cant decide.

Sonata

Antec Performance Plus

Picking a case has alot to do with personal preference. I'll be building an identical system as you soon, and I think i'll go all black with the Sonata, since I've never really heard anyone complain about it, and everyone has one.

Yeah so far, looks like the Sonata is tops. I never have even seen the case, just pictures of it. Does it light up in the front? I think I read someone saying it has a blue light in the front bright enough to light up a room? Is that true?

Yes, the front headlights are bright enough to keep me wide awake at night (so I just unplugged them). Other than that I  my Sonata.

Built a system in one of these for my daughter to take to college. Wanted it to be really quiet since she has to sleep near it. (It is. You can't tell it's on just by listening.) I drilled a hole in one of the spare metal floppy covers and put a switch in to turn them off and on. My daughter turned it off and left it that way. Should have just left it unhooked. They are very bright blue lights.

I have two 1080awg's and one Sonata. If you want a lot of space and power and good cooling, get the 1080awg's. If you want quiet and good power and OK cooling, get the Sonata, they serve different purposes.

The case is not particularly beautiful, same old style. But if you are among the ones concerned over heat and noise from your computer then Sonata is the way to go.

I love my Sonata except those side vents. They let a lot of dust in so I have to clean the inside mroe often than necessary.

I have a plusview 1080 LE and I like it, but if I saw the tsunami when I was setting up my rig I would probably have gotten that.

Ive seen the sonata case in person in several stores and it seems as though it gets dirty and scratches pretty easily. That said though, its probably one of the best looking cases antec has made.

Thats the main thing I dislike about it, that and the airholes on the side. I cant figure why they would make something where dust would come in. I live in the mountain/desert region and is dusty as hell here, so it may not do for me. I can dust furniture here and a half hour later, write my name on what I just dusted.

It does scratch easily, but I've never known mine to get dirty faster than my brother's Enermax case (black, also with very nice finish). I think that just comes with having that nise jet-black finish.

I have some cloth covering them, dust is no more.

You can solder a resistor on either of the connector wires and it dims. You don't need much, I put a 30O resistor on, it's almost too dim for me to notice it. You can still see it though.

Antec Sonata: $99
30O resistor: $.04
