Poll: Anandtechians seem to be primarily from North America.

why is that??

is it a language thing?? but there are many Europeans that speak and type legible english, so i don't think it's that. did anandtech spread because of word of mouth (one guy tells the next guy)??

i personally found it just surfing the net and i'm sure many others did as well.

so why is it predominantly north american?? i'm willing to bet that over 70% of anandtechians are north american.

why don't we do a poll?

i went to school in Michigan and there were LOTS of canadians from toronto there.

my "generalizations" regarding canadians is based on my experience with them. shoot one of the groups i hung out with the most was composed primarily of canadians.

but the canadians i met did have the attitude that their culture was superior to americas and that european culture was superior to america's as well.

Its a self-reinforcing cycle, and depends what forum you are looking at. I'l bet you get a lot higher %tage of non-USians in the other forums - GH, TS, etc. But off-topic is pretty much a yank nef-fest and Hot deals should be subtitled "Hot Deals in the contiguous states". There is a small but vocal european incursion into P&N, though.

I always make sure people realise the distinction between Canada and the US (and I'm from Europe).
I hate it when people associate Canadians with US people.

Many people are drawn to this forum because of the hot deals. Many of the hot deals are only available in US/North American markets. Many hotdealers move over to the OT forums for a place to hang out. Hence part of the reason for so many North American's here.

We also have a different product market in many ways - cars, hardware, electronics, ect. People come here to get reviews on hardware and products that are available to them easily.
