I am going to start a BF2 server that will be home to mature players interested in teamwork. There will be no clan affiliation, but I am open to sponsoring one.

Basically, I need everyone's input as to what they would like to see in a server. I will also need the help of others in the form of admins, forum moderators, etc. I have a full-time job and a family life, so my contribution to this effort will be mostly financial and technical. I do not have the time to foster a community. As a result, I need the help of a few mature individuals who have experience admin'ing game servers as well as moderating forums. Their jobs will be to keep the peace, organize gatherings on the server, and stay on top of our communities demands and expectations.

The personal benefit I seek in this is I will have a server that I can join that I know will:

- Exceed the system requirements for running a Battlefield 2 server
- Have the necessary bandwidth
- Have a population centered around a familiar community that is interested in teamwork

The server will be run on a dedicated box that has whatever hardware is necessary to run such a server as best as it can be. I'm tired of overloaded servers, so this will be done right.

I will front the entire cost as needed, but my goal is to pay for half of it myself and finance the other half through community contributions via the server's website.

So on that note, please fill out the poll and add any additional comments regarding what you'd like to see and what you DON'T want to see. What are you favorite maps? What maps do you absolutely detest? What level of admin interaction/presence do you feel is most appropriate?

I'll help out as time permits...I'm trying to get a server up and running now, I don't know what kind of bandwidth I'll get from my home though, definitely not enough for the larger games.

Would you be interested in abandoning your home project for an equal ownership in this one?

Keep in mind that when I say "equal ownership" I don't mean "equal cost". Again, my contribution to this project is going to be mostly financial and technical. While I would like some financial assitance eventually, I realize that the community needs to get up and running before that can be addressed.

I would like to say thank you and if the pings and playability is good I can see my self chipping in. I have hooked up with our xfire list seldom though the times I have have been good times. As far as maps as a lone wolf I prefir city maps but I think your are thinking squads here (at least I hope) and all the maps are fun in a working funtional squad. Again thanks and I am looking forward to you getting up and running.
