--At the pleasant request from the thread in the identical thread in OT I posted this here. I would appreciate it if the original thread/poll could be deleted or moved here.--

Ok, call me crazy, call me a prude (but don't call me late for dinner)... I like to follow a thread and read the messages. Is it too much to ask the guys with the big ol' "stats" sigs to either cut down the size or at least put 2-3 items per line?

My index finger can only take so much scrolling and it begins to ache as I scroll through "Bump" posts with 10-line "I've got a computer with these parts" signatures.

Providing a poll to see just how far off my rocker I am.

i kinda agree with you, but we cant really complain, its up to each user what they put in there. we can just consider ourselves lucky that images are disabled, that way we dont have to scroll through miles of pics as well as text :)

Rigoletto, yours is fine, he just means the ones where they list each and every component on a new line.

I actually like some of the witty signatures though.
The hardware signature is useful if anyone seeks advice on their systems.
But some guys are just silly...

well, sig length is a touchy subject IMO, i mean 256 characters can be A LOT if you use just plain text, but if you want three simple little links, you are over the limit for characters, which kinda sucks. it should be limited to 256 characters OUTPUT, and there should be a limit to the number of LINES, like do a line break count or something, i know this makes it more complex, but i think it would be cool.

I didn't really think much of this but now that you brought it up, I realize that it is annoying that people have such a long signature. I dont mind if it stretches wide, but long is no good.

Sorry, I was making a point. :)

Here's a message copied from a Radeon forum at Rage3D. I think that this is a comparably short "registry clip", compared to some others (but couldn't find them this minute). It's pretty funny, but way too long. I think that it's just a take off on some of the people that post real registry clips.

I don't blame him, my GF2GTS rocks the house. But it too has driver issues, just check out the zoiah site and see for yourselves.

Now that there is the possibility of entering your computer's information with that My-Rig-thingy, 10 line sigs are hopefully a thing of the past.
The golden rule is, your average post should be longer then your sig.
