Poll: Am I un-American?

I was thinking the other day while watching the news on whether or not I am un-American or not.

1) I don't care about the troops in Iraq, but I do care for our local NYPD officers and Firemen, even when I do nef in Police threads.

2) I don't believe in God. I don't care what other people believe in, as long as they don't push it on me.

3) I don't care much for any President, although I am a Democrat. I don't care about US Government at all really -- to me local State government matters (and affects me) more.

4) I believe in Gay unions. I think that marriage and civil unions should be seperate entities.

5) I secretly wish that Texas would leave the Union, just for the lols.

So what do you think ATOT? Should I pack my bags and leave to Austrailia or something? Or am I so un-American, that I am more American than people who think they are more American than me?

It's American to be able to think what you want and not necessarily go along with a majority. So I wouldn't say you're un-American.

I figure the troops part is kind of douche-ish, but what else bugs you?

I suppose mostly that (not that I have a support our troops sticker/magnet on my car), but I think being whimsically ignorant of the federal government is kinda douchey in my mind. Really though, that's just an opinion of mine so it's only a "kinda." I'm good with the rest.

Only #1 makes you kind of a dick in my book, and not specifically because you don't care about the troops but because you don't care about the lives of certain Americans in general. I don't agree with the war in Iraq but I still hope our troops stay safe because they're people too.

All the rest don't really matter. They certainly don't make you un-American. In fact, I'd say even the first one doesn't make you un-American, just kind of a douche, like TheVrolok said.

I'll carry your suitcase to the International terminal at the airport. Anyone got a cigarette lighter for his passport?

Not necessarily... but you are an asshole for that first statement on your list. The others aren't a big deal.

See AstroManLuca's post :)

You are an honest American. I'm sure some foaming at the mouth manic will attack you for not meeting their standards though.

The real question, is how many plane seats he takes up.

Probably because I don't know anyone there...and I only ever hear about the messed up things they do. (Killing innocents, throwing puppies off cliffs, etc.)

Well, that seems to be typically american'esque these days.

Definitely #1 makes you a dick/douche/whatever. Many people do awful things (killing neighbor kid and dumping body in a irrigation pond for example). The troops get highlighted because it's easy to throw the spotlight on a few bad apples.

Why would the above statements make you "Un-American"?
