Poll: ABIT KT7a vs. ASUS A7V

With both having the same chipset (KT133a) which is better for overclocking? Which is more stable? I wil be getting a 1.2-1.3 T-bird, if that helps any.

I got to use one today. I put a AXIA T-Bird 1000 in it and some generic 133 ram. Ran the Birdie @ 1333 perfectly stable. Nice board!!!!

I have both, (well i have the kt7a-raid) though I only currently have the A7V133 in a built system, awaiting on the parts for the Abit system.. I really have no complaints about this board, I like the raid option, it is very stable after a bios flash (1004)..

Both are equally good. With abit board, you don't have to worry about any jumpers but it is more expensive.

zzzz- Nor do you with the Asus board. The Asus board can be set to jumper free mode and everything can be done in the bios.

I can't really vote...since I only have the Abit kt7a. I can say that I haven't had any problems with it *so far*.

ive built at least 10 systems in the last couple months, i used the a7v133 in all of them. (fast & stable) and didnt have a problem with any of them.

before that i built 3 systems with the old abit kt7 (kt133 not kt133a) one worked perfect, one was pretty good but some minor problems, and one had to be returned, (defective board) and the new board also had some minor stability problems.

based on that ive never bought, and never will buy a abit kt7a.

side note: i loved my abit bh6 mobo

I LOVE my Abit KT7A-R!
I have had ZERO problems with the board itself and any irq or other conflicts from add-ons was quickly resolved by the ton of info here and elsewhere on the web about this board. I must say that Paul's FAQwas THE most helpful and has become my primary source of info regarding updates for this board. Kudos to Paul for an excellent FAQ!
Back to the board: no problems and tons of fun to play with. I'm currently running 118fsb and 118+33mhz for memory at 2-2-2 settings. No problems and running smoothly. I like having all the extra fan attachments as well.

I really think both of these boards are so close that it's not really going to matter too much. The Rev. 2 of the Abit board has had HUGE success with overclocking the FSB though. Also, I'm not sure, but I don't think the ASUS has an ISA slot if you're wanting one. I'm sure I'll be quickly corrected if I'm wrong though!
