I'm in the process of planning to build a new PC. I've got all the parts picked except for the motherboard. Parts will be:

Athlon 1.33
Good HSF (Taisol, etc.)
256 MB RAM (Type depends on HSF)
VisonTek GeForce3
Maxtor ATA100/7200 40 GB
Some kind of 5.1 sound card (Phillips, SB, etc.)
Fong Kai 320 case
Acer Open 16X slot load DVD
Acer Open 12x10x32x CDRW

I'll probably overclock things a bit, but I'm not going for 2Ghz here. Maybe 1.4, 1.5, etc.

My choices for the motherboard/RAM are to:

Get an A7V133 now w/ 256MB Corsair PC150 CAS2 RAM (Good bang for the buck, but not much future and specs are comparable w/ the DDR boards. Overclocks better, too.)

Get an A7M266 now w/ 256MB Crucial PC2100 CAS2.5 RAM (Good bang for the buck, but not CAS2 - too much $$)

Wait a couple of weeks until the A7V266 comes out (Not interested in the MSI KT266) and perhaps the 256MB PC2100 CAS2 will drop too ($259 is too dammed much)

Thoughts, recommendations? I tend to buy a PC once every coupla years, so it's going to have to last me. I'm not a "upgrade it every few months" kinda guy.
