just putting a system together for a friend. he is an avid gamer. since these two cards are priced very similar, i cant decide which to get. please tell me why you would get one over the other! thanx

First off, the 9700Pro IS faster than the 9800NP. Yes the 9800 can OC higher IF he has the good RAM and that is no guarantee.

No, it is just that the good ram overclocks more than the "bad" stuff. You probably can still ultimately get it faster than the 9700 Pro will go.
