help me decide. i've found both locally for $150 or less. i've been in the market for a 19 inch flat but 21 inches seems quite tempting, even if it isnt flat. thanks!

Are you ever going to move this thing around? If so, don't get the 21 unless you're a powerlifter. Damn things weigh a ton.

I would rather have a good quality 19" flat CRT.

At $150 I would definitely go for the 19". I paid $300 six months ago for my 19" NEC Multisync FE950+, & in the near future I'll be replacing it with one of it's 22" big brothers (around $650).

Personally I would save a little longer & get a better monitor. A good monitor will last a long time, you'll regret a cheap one every time you look at it.

unless the CRT is a flat-screen as well, i wouldn't even look at it twice. keep in mind that flat screens have a larger viewable size than "round" CRT's.

it's gonna stay on my desk. im not much into hauling 21 inch monitors to LAN parties. =)

this is the one i'm looking at ... refresh rates look awesome:

21" Viewsonic P815 Professional Series monitor"

it's not by any means "cheap" as viewsonic has a good name and the specs show it. ive had a 17 inch viewsonic for quite some time and been happy with it. is the flat thing more hype than anything? does it really cut down on eye strain, etc?

The difference between a flat screen and a non-flat screen is more visible than the difference between a 19" and a 21". In other words, you'll get more for your money with the 19" flat vs the 21" non-flat.

A 19" Flat will give you almost as much view area as a 21' regular. Once you go flat, all these roundmoonitors make things look strange, especially in gaming.

I had an NEC Fe950+BK..beautiful monitor. Greatly assisted in the sale of my computer..(the monitor comes with it, right?) :D

I'd like to buy another one..

Anyways, yeah..19" flat.
