Well, on the simpsons they say rocket science is harder. From the halloween episode where Mr. Burns makes a robot with Homer's brain:

"Oh come on Smithers, this isn't rocket science, it's brain surgery!"
 
the poll isn't clear. a scientist has a harder job than a surgeon. but, i think a neurological scientist has a much harder job than an astrophysicist.

Brain surgery, you always have lives in your hands. W/ Rocket science, most of the time, you have a satellite or a remotely controlled experimental vehicle. That said, Rocket Science is 1E6 times cooler!
