I'm thinking of purchasing a pair of the new Polk RTI8's w/dual 6.5 woofers ($699.) for my Home theater/Cd Audio setup .
I currently own a pair of (bought in 1994) KLH Pro-41 w/ 10inch woofer & 5.25 midrange . These speakers have been very good as I've only had one tweeter go out since I purchased . My speaker setup is --- Center channel is the new Polk Csi3 , Surround is Polk Rti28's & I don't own a Sub Woofer .
I watch movies but ""MOSTLY"" listen to deep vocals & jazz which needs the extra lowend without drowning out & I'm afraid that the small Dual 6.5's on the Polks won't cut it . I'm kinda' worried that the Polks (although higher quality) will not have the low range that my KLH's do .
Tried looking up the specs/frequency response of my KLH's & found nothing . Just what the label reads in the back . Pro-41 / serial #21007 / 5-290 watts . (Paid around $350. for the pair back in '94)
Can anyone give me any opinions on what they think ? Will I be totally floored by the Polks or disappointed without the use of a Sub ? ?
Thanks
