I actually own these, bought a pair from Crutchfield back in June for $270. Polk's come out with their new series so it appears that CC is offering a decent price break to get rid of their inventory. I think they're great speakers, but then again they're the only pair of home speakers I have ever owned so I can't really compare them. I'm actually debating picking up another pair at this price to use as surround sound speakers. I figure it would be about $200 anyways to buy a nice set of bookshelf speakers with stands so I might as well get these.

yes but thats 200/ea

The ones at CC are for a pair. I went in the other day and the salesman told me they were nothing special. He said I was better off buying the rm6700 and separate sub.

Nope. Thats $200 for the pair or $99.99 each only sold in pairs. At frys $99 wont get you 1 but $200 will get you 2.

For $200 this is a very nice set of speakers!! I use to have a pair but traded up to the R50s. The R30s sounded real nice but couldn't handle the wattage I was putting through them. These might make a nice set of rear surrounds for my system ;)

I just wanted to say that I owe Showtime a beer if we ever meet up. I went by Fry's today and the R50's were indeed on sale for $99 each so I picked up a pair. I now have a set of R50's for $70 less than I payed for my R30's originally. Cheers!

Thanks Dignan,

Ill take a guiness. :)

I was going to grab a set myself but don't have enough room for them. I got in on that CC JBL speakers (S36IIPM) a couple of weeks ago and should have gotten 2 pairs for my room's htpc set up.

Still this is a good deal, Nothing really beats a Silk Dome tweeter! :) Smooth Sound.
Of cours the R50's use the same tweeter but two Mid Drivers. I say if you have a good sub you won't miss much between R50 vs R30.
