Amongst the fleet, they do. They have many different cars for the job in hand, ranging from small Astra's up to Range Rovers, Shoguns and X5s. Some UK regional forces have Mitsubishi Evo and Subaru Impreza STi marked cars for chasing down errant road users.
 
Saw that model in the Piazza del Popolo in Rome on vacation. The Polizia were having a expo and had all their equipment on display. Along with their associates, the Carabinieri, the collection of assault weapons, battering rams, and 3 wheel parking enforecement vehicles was quite colorful.
 
So sad. I forgot how much I love the look of the Gallardo...but the Top Gear episode from Sunday reminded me just how beautiful of a car it is. Just fantastic.
