Polite way to reject a job offer?

So I've been trying to figure out how to be polite about rejecting a job offer at a really nice hotel, and I was wondering what you guys think of this?

"Hi -----.

I'm replying in response to your phone call last week. I think I'm going to have to decline the position of Night Audit. I really appreciate you looking out for positions for me, and I'll be keeping an eye out for any other openings.

Thanks again.

Sincerely
-----"

There was never an interview. I had originally applied for a different job, but it was taken before I could get everything squared away. Their HR guy really wanted me to work there though, so he came up with another job, but the hours are terrible. That's how far we got in the job process.

I felt that I didn't need to give any reasoning for declining. I just want to make it as respectful as possible, because I'm most likely going to have dealings with these guys again. I also felt that e-mail was a better option just so we could have it in writing.

UPDATE: I did what Kranky said, got a positive reply from them :)

You don't need to provide an excuse. Just play a clip of Brad Pitt saying "Fack off" from Snatch and you're golden.

If you were to say anything like that I recommend taking off the "I think" part of "I think I'm going to have to decline." It's not a question, so just let them know that you ARE going to decline so there is no chance they think you may reconsider.

If you're interested in being considered for other positions there, you have to say why you are turning it down.

"I wanted to let you know that I will not be pursuing the Night Auditor position we spoke about last week. The working hours for that position were not a good fit for me. I would still be interested if other opportunities arise.

Thank you for your consideration and please keep me in mind."

If you don't want to be considered for other positions, it doesn't matter that much.

This is what I'd do.
