polishing the cover of an IPOD

if any of you have ipods, do you know of any ways to clean the front surface from scratches? i've gotten loads of microscopic scratches and i'm dying to rid of them and polish up the plastic.

any suggestions apart from using detergent or other crap which i know won't work?
 
Why didn't you get a ipod cover for it from the beginning? $30 for a cheap plastic that costs .50 cents to make goes a long way.

yeah i knwo i know, i have a hard case for it (i should get one of those plastic covers though) but i like the way the ipod "feels" 😀
