Polishing scratches out of Plexiglass/Lexan/Duraplex?

I'm actually modding my PS2 but I figure I could ask here since we're working with the same materials. I put in the lexan but noticed some smudges, so I grabbed a corner of my shirt and rubbed at it. Now I've got tiny scratches all over the thing that are totally noticable. Now I'm afraid to rub off my fingerprints cause I don't want to scratch it more.

Anyone know of a product to fix this?

Also, what should I use to rub the plastic?

Meguiars Plastic Polish from better auto parts stores. Or perhaps toothpaste...
