Police shooting at the WalMart here in town

Just heard over the police radio about an officer involved shooting at the local walmart.

So far no officers injured and one suspect in custody.

Dis gun be good.

Funny cause I was told we are one of the most, if not the most, progressive towns in the state. We got cameras in all the police vehicles, we're beta testing body cams, and even some of the tasers have cameras that turn on when the officer takes off the safety.

So a progressive police department automatically never has to shoot anyone? Do people start behaving when they're on camera or something? I'm not sure what the relevance of this post is to the OP.

Nah jlee not in that sense. I just meant we are ahead of the game in terms of being proactive for police involved activities. Apparently our city manager is pro technology and we handle all of the IT stuff for the PD.

We have quite a lot of technology available for such a small town.

what does that have to do with a shooting?

This would be it.

Dispatcher used WalMart as a reference point for the officers so the shooting didn't take place there.

Hearsay right now, but interested in seeing what these people were supposedly involved in is accurate.

OK so what part of 2 dead people is good?

And what does this have to do with your cops being progressive?

Not even going to bother with your first comment.

Because in AZ, most police departments ( I can't speak for jlee's PD, only for the ones I was around), and most importantly the citizens of those cities, don't care for them because of the officers don't like being scrutinized and the citizens don't want to pay for them. Here is the opposite. The city government and the voting citizens here have no issues with the cost and the officers don't see any encumbrance from them. So yes, this place is a lot more progressive than the mostly conservative cities I came from.

Why won't you bother? You said it was going to be good.

What's good about it?

And what do cameras have to do with a shooting?

I worked LE in NH, not AZ.

I <3ed my camera.

I thought you were working for Mesa PD? Damnit my memory is slipping lol.

I applied and went through the oral board, firearms qualification, and I think background...then they took over a year to finish and the application expired and I didn't apply again. IT pays better. 😛
