So, all the people crying "omg police on cow brutality", exactly what do you propose be done to wrangle a cow running around on it's own, even when the owner agrees it can't be caught and should be put down before it runs in front of a car and kills the people. As I mentioned earlier, I don't care if the thing was out for blood or just frightened. If a steer is charging at me and I have permission to shoot, I'm gonna take the shot.

And what do you think animal control is going to do? Mosey up on their horse and lasso it? Also, it is likely there isn't an animal control officer in that area. Those are employed by the city, and it is highly unlikely a farm with cattle exists inside city limits. So, if the sheriff department doesn't have an animal control officer available, where does one come from?

And did you read the article? One was shot (because it wasn't just a single one) near the exit of a highway. Sounds like a pretty high traffic area to me.

I also have to laugh, this is obviously evidence of the United States of Police State! Because, it isn't like this happened in Canada or anything.
