I'd like to see the video without the voiceover newsguy. I wonder what the news would say if there wasn't some citizen there to film it? :|

Welcome to the police state!

FBI investigating shooting of local airman in California

By John Andrew Prime
jprime@gannett.com

The FBI in California has launched an investigation into the shooting Sunday night of a Barksdale Air Force Base policeman on leave to his home in Chino.

At the same time federal investigators announced they were looking into possible civil rights violations in the shooting. The San Bernardino County district attorney's office said it has assigned investigators to look into the case.

Senior Airman Elio Carrion, 21, a member of the 2nd Security Forces Squadron, was a passenger in a Corvette that led a deputy on a short, 100 mph chase, authorities said.

A videotape by a bystander shows a deputy ordering Carrion to his feet and then shooting him several times as Carrion seemed to comply with the order. Carrion, who was unarmed...

Nothing here to mitigate the officers shooting him. Attempted murder charges are appropriate

I know you'd like to think the world is coming to an end, but stop being so melodramatic.

Cop gone bad.

I am sure he was under direct orders from Bush to kill this man as well.

Get a grip! {sheep} It's all Bush's fault{/sheep}

The country is going crazy...it and everything is Bush's fault, it just has to be, because Joey said it and Billy believed it, and that makes it so.

But don't you see--since CA is a blue state and the cop shot an soldier, that obviously makes the him a deranged liberal who hates America

(sarcasm off)

(Pssst. Here's a secret. Jrenz is one of the Bush faithful, just like you. He's trying to use this individual criminal act as a partisan club to bash the left. Pretty sad, IMHO, but some people are that way.)

I will point out that this is a good example of why we must never sacrifice our checks and balances merely for the convenience of the government. We don't have court oversight because of good cops/agents/Presidents. We have oversight for the occasional bad ones, and even for the good ones who have a bad day or a momentary lapse in judgment.

I believe, you sir, just accused me of being a Bushie. ;)

The fact is, dissenters, are not uniters. We cannot remain the super power we enjoy, if we become so framented in our views. There will be no continuity....just a bunch of torn off the wall circuitry giving off sparks. But that's OK...it's just an internet forum. Who cares? What we say here will never have any impact on the real world. This is mostly just a fight club for unrealists. :D

Quite true. Look how innocent ol Rodney King turned out. The cops should have hit him harder.

If they wouldn't have beat him in the first place none of that would have happened.

One lesson I take from this is that it's probably a good idea not to put cops through a high speed chase.

Did anyone check to see if the tv show "Cops" was filming in Chino that day?? Cuz every time I watch that show, it seems like the cops they ride with act a whole lot stupider than they might normally, cuz they wanna show off what a bunch of tough guys they are, and look good on camera.

On a seperate note, I think the air force should carpet bomb this cop's house. Might teach him a lesson in what real over-reaction is, eh?   <<evil laugh!!

Rodney King deserved what he got.

But looking at this video I don't see how this man deserved to get shot.
