Sergeant Wayne Dunn, Detective Brian Lauler, Police Officer Gregg Gaynor, Haverstraw Village Police Department, Sergeant Martin Lund and Police Officer John Lawless of the Haverstraw Town Police Department, repeatedly entered a burning three story 52 unit apartment building to alert and evacuate many of the still sleeping residents. All of the officers had to brave thick smoke, intense heat and flames. They worked their way through the building, at times crawling on the floor, to escort frightened and disoriented residents from the building. Many small children had to be carried. Two of the officers suffered smoke inhalation and a third was treated for a laceration to his leg, as well as smoke inhalation.

Police Officer Matthew Dziergowski of the New York City Police Department, disregarded his own safety while covering an accident scene, when he placed his patrol car between a speeding vehicle and his fellow officers. The resulting collision ended with Officer Dziergowski losing his life. His action saved the lives of several officers who would have otherwise been struck.

Police Officers Marlene Loos, Kit Gabrielsen and Alphonso Ray of the Suffolk County Police Department, subdued and arrested an individual after Officer Loos was attacked, disarmed and shot while handling an assault case. Despite her injuries, Officer Loos evacuated civilians from the line of fire and physically protected one citizen by covering her with her own body. Officers Gabrielsen and Ray came to Officers Loos' aid, were engaged in a gun battle with her attacker and eventually subdued and arrested the individual.

Nope, never had a run in with the law from my past profession. I had these same feelings and beliefs even before the escorting career.

I have more news reports here in Houston alone of corruption within law enforcement. Good ole Wayne Dolcinfino has even reported on some of this stuff. I am not the only one who feels this way I assure you, and it has nothing to do with my prior profession.

You must be a cop? Got a hard on for the escorts that got away, the ones you couldn't catch?

Me, a cop? Nah, I'm just your average IT management drone. I just realize there's good people and bad people in every profession and to paint everyone with the same brush is dumb.

Ok Mr. IT management Drone...

When the day comes, if it ever comes for you... and you have a run in with a corrupt cop...or more over, a corrupt cop arrests you for something trivial. Then you have to sit in a holding cell, and be treated like less than an animal... well, I would love to be the fly on the wall in that holding cell. I don't think your cop friends will be able to help you out of a scenario like that.

I don't think all cops are bad. I don't paint them all in the same light.. however, it is an ever increasing problem, and the abuses are becoming more prevalent.

You just haven't experienced any of this in your little white collar world. So you haven't a clue.

The fact that you admit to having been an "escort" basically makes the rest of your post null and void IMO. If you want to live in "white collar world", step 1 is don't be an "escort". I'm sure drug dealers think all cops are corrupt too. "Professions" like that literally attract corrupt cops, along with scum from every other walk of life, because they know they can abuse you, steal your drugs, extort your illicit profits, etc., and probably not get in too much trouble. Sorry, but thats life.

So your experiences as an "escort" do not mean that all cops are evil, just that you're way more likely to have met the evil ones than us "average IT drones".

Reminds me of Training Day.

We should just replace cops with androids anyway, have them remote controlled and all of their moves logged. Of course, a cop would still have to use the joystick... hehe.

And look back at the people that have been busted with them actors and sports heroes and big business manager level execs and CEOs..

If you want to live in "white collar world", step 1 is don't be an "escort". LOL, your post shows what little you really knowI'm sure drug dealers think all cops are corrupt too. Two totally different subjects, but you lump em together to show your own prejudice against women in the trade of which you know little about "Professions" like that literally attract corrupt cops, along with scum from every other walk of life, because they know they can abuse you, steal your drugs, extort your illicit profits, etc., and probably not get in too much trouble. Sorry, but thats life.I see so your saying that its ok to abuse people if you view them immoral, or view them deviant in some way, even if they are suppose to be innocent until proven guilty?

So your experiences as an "escort" do not mean that all cops are evil, just that you're way more likely to have met the evil ones than us "average IT drones".
My views on corrupt cops do not come from my prior profession. They come from a lifetime of experience and I have not always been involved in the escort world. You make assumptions and you know what they say about making assumptions... assumptions make an ass out of you and me.

Wow, and you know this about me how???? You know absolutely nothing about me. You don't even know anything about escorting and or those who patronize the services of escorts, thats obvious by your post.

Scum comes in all forms buddy, and corrupt cops abuse anyone if they think they can get away with it.

No I'm sorry but you continue to harp on me and my prior profession as a way to discredit a news article that I posted? Thats makes alot of sense.

CVSIN, you forget that many of the ladies who are known to work in spas/studios/or massage parlors have regular clients who are the boys in blue.

Some of them even believe that sex work should be made legal and have even voiced their opinions on TV. Like when John Stossel did his news report and interviewed several on the Vice departments across the country. They felt overall it is in fact a victimless crime and it made no sense to them the amount of money and effort spent on going after sex workers, however due to politics they are forced to.

Yes, I can provide those links as well.... 😉

somehow, I am far less threatened by an escort doing her own thing in private, than I am with a renegade corrupt cop out on the beat.

For all the good cops out there they should be pretty pissed that its the bad cops who give them such a bad name.

Oh, don't forget, the average lifespan of a police officer is significantly lower than that of an average citizen and the odds of collecting many years of retirement pay aren't very high.

Just curious, you work for the boys in blue. Do you condone these actions that I have posted in my original thread here?

I'll run them down one by one so we stay on the same page.

You can get naked and have sex with the prostitutes and still arrest them, all for free. - I wouldn't have sex with a prostitute and I can't think of a reason why an Officer should. That said, I've never arrested one and don't see prostitution as something that should necessarily be illegal, although I can see arguements for both sides.

You can tase little old ladies in wheel chairs - Yeah, let's not mention that she was wielding both a knife and a hammer, because that would mean that combating her with firearms would be justified and that using a Taser is actually -- ***GASP*** -- several stages BELOW on the use-of-force continuum.

Beat up anyone you want if it suits you - Um, no?

Speed through signal lights and use your LE status to get away with it - I fail to see any valid reason why this would be done in a non-emergency situation.

You can make more money than most people ever dream of in a lifetime! - That's right! And all you have to do is work 70 hours a week to do it! OUTSTANDING!!!

I wonder how many years it's been since someone incorporated doughnuts into a police-related situation with any level of cleverness or original thought.

Nobody hates a bad cop more than a good one. It's a good thing there is a ridiculously small percentage of cops who are in some way corrupt, despite what the media would like to portray.

HPD has been under investigation for alot of things in the last few years.. all of it bad..

I wasn't aruging that issue, but thanks anyway.[/quote]

then what are you argueing about.. youre attacking val for posting a story that is headline news here in houston..

As far as I'm concerened there is no greater evil in the world than a corrupt cop or a person that would support a corrupt cops actions..
and you saying that you would rather be a corrupt cop than not a cop at all speaks volumes about your character.

it also speaks volumes about your maturity level..
a person that lables people so quickly without prosecution has NO BUSINESS BEING IN LAW ENFORCMENT PERIOD...

val has never been arrested for anything illegal she pays her taxes and lives a decent life.
She worked as an escort but nooen can proove she performed anything other than company with the gentlemen in question. there is no record and no evidence that she has committed any wrong doing.

You as an officer of the law should know better.. you cannot just spew off BS and snap judgements agasint people...

being a LE officer requires a broad view of society as well as great patience.
you demostrate neither.
you come off as a good old boy redneck cop from bumfvck alabama where law is dished out with a hangmens noose instead of through a court of law.

thank god youre not from here we have all the trouble we need already.

Holy crap, way to put words into my mouth. I said if it was a choice between a bad cop, or no cop, I would rather have a bad cop on the streets than no cops at all. No where did I ever say that I would rather be corrupt than nothing at all. Your jumping to conclusions is concerning to say the least. You seem so eager to bash someone that you create this illusions of what is happening around you to further your rather dubious points.

Furthermore, your conclusion about my character is far from accurate, as well as what you seem to believe a cop should be and a cop should do. You have no knowledge of law enforcement save what TV shows, movies, and the occasional traffic stop shows you. You instead decide that rather than have any sort of coherent argument, you will sling copious amounts of mud at me in a feable attempt to rationalize your juvinile mindset.

I was not trying to argue the point of the post in my response "A well dressed whore is still a whore." I was trying to point out the fact that the argument is flawed which obviously, went well over your head. I addressed the agrument in a different post, but your neanderthal like rant decided to conviently ignore what I said and instead inserted what you THOUGHT you saw because well, thats what you wanted to see. Let me try to unconfuse your rather meager mind here:

I in no way support or condone the actions of corrupt police officers, sheriffs deputies, state troopers, highway patrolmen/patrolwomen, federal officers, or anybody else related to law enforcement. HOWEVER, if given the choice between having corrupt officers on the street versus no officers at all, I would rather have corrupt ones. Because regardless of what you may think, even corrupt officers can save lives while risking their own. This does not mean that I would choose corruption over losing my job, far from it. It is a personal choice as a citizen of the united states, and an opinion that is my own and does in no way reflect my professionalism, my department, nor my future in law enforcement.

If you fail to understand that above statement, I feel pity for you.

LOL you know nothing about me at all..
#1 I have PLENTY of exposure to LE on both sides of the badge..
a: served US Navy for 10 years during that time did a tour working with the MAs which if you dont know is the US Navy Police force... during this time I was basically a reserve police officer working with the real MAs

b: worked as a Brig guard same thing as a Corrections officer..
During these times i grew rather disgruntled with the entire justice system instead of pursuing my original plan of becoming LE when I got out i decided I wanted nothing to do with being a cop in this country..

The attitudes towards normal people with minor offenses are shocking.. the MAs became extremely jaded and looked as everyone as bad instead of seeing real people all they saw was a perp or the bad sides of people..
I dont want to be like this...

Cops get a serious powertrip in thier heads over the years.. they tend to look down on normal people seeing potential criminals instead of a possible friend in alot of cases..
and the lure of power and money is very tempting with this power by alot of officers.. as we see more and more abuse/corruption cases every year..

Your statement that you would rather have a corrupt cop on the beat than none at all is quite disturbing as well..

how do you justify a statement like that at all...

there is no place for close minded power hungry cops and there is no place for corrupt cops on the streets period..

your snap judgements on val here for posting this article show me you have the wrong disposition to be an officer...

so i guess this makes the Houston Chronicle all criminals with an agenda to discredit our police force as well huh?

brilliant..

man times like this Im glad i saw the light and changed my mind about LE.. id hate to be associated in any way shape or form with people like you or the cops in all the stories I posted here.
