police officer killed in DC today

A police officer in DC was killed this morning while directing traffic around a crime scene from earlier in the night.
a drunk teenage girl didnt see the officer stoping traffic and ran him over.



My dad is a cop in DC and is really bummed out, and to make it worse, his unit is the one assigned to investigate the murder now.

That really sucks...Your dad is a cop in DC? What part? I know that DC has a big nightclub/bar scene and alot of people from VA/MD flock their to party.

Yeah it's got a great bar/club scene...I just wouldn't expect someone to be so stupid to drive drunk in DC, what with the great public transportation they have there. And she was a TEENAGER...geez....she's really in deep doodoo.

according to the article she was 20.. so i guess she's not quite a teenager, still really young. (not even legal age to be drinking)

and i'm not sure exactly what part of DC my dad works in. He doesnt work on the street, he's more of a Detective type officer that just goes where he's needed from what i understand that he tells me.

 

When I become a police officer, drunken drivers will be shown NO mercy what-so-ever! :|
