WTF I thought soldier's training is supposed to be registered as a lethal weapon? They couldn't take care of those two??

Blindsided?

From the story and video it looks like there are 3 suspects.

What a sad world this has become

I would have called the police right away.

I would have like to use my car and run over the pigs who were beating these men.

was that black on white or were the soldiers also black?

Last year, during a football tailgate party, a Marine that had returned from a tour in Iraq, was assaulted by some drunk redneck. The Marine was trying to protect a girl from an abusive boyfriend. Sick people.

irrelevant IMO. Trying to peg this a "hate crime" or play the race game is counterproductive. Crimes white vs Black or the other way around aren't automatically "hate crimes".

I agree. I also tend to think it's irrelevant that the victims were soldiers. I can't imagine that had anything to do with what happened, even if it engenders more sympathy among the public.

What if they were dressed in some form of uniform

And black on white CRIME is more prevelant than the opposite -- not labeling it a hate crime.. but it is worth making note of

Some military training puts you to a level where if you beat someone up with your bare hands, its considered assault with a deadly weapon. Whereas for everyone else, its just assault. Kinda stupid, but thats the way it is.

In a nightclub? It's actually illegal (at least in the Air Force) to wear BDUs to an off-base bar that doesn't serve food, and, in the years I spent stationed just a couple of miles from Fort Lewis (where these guys were stationed), I have only seen a few soldiers in Class A or B uniforms. It would be a very unusual sight indeed to see a military member in uniform in Seattle, and I consider it highly unlikely they were in uniform.

I guess I just get frustrated when white on black crime gets mentioned... but black on white is ignored in some way...

Yes, if they were not wearing any identifiers then their military roles should not have mattered.

That may be true also. We do not fully know the motive here so I guess both are somewhat irrelevant unless it was part of the motive for the attack.

Well I have a slightly different take on this.

I was a soldier for 10 years and I can feel their pain, but I do not have much compassion for people that go out drinking at bars. If you go out drinking and get beat up, you might have deserved it. I also know that sometimes locals consider outside interlopers like the military a threat to their local women, like they are property or something like that. I have heard reports from other where soldiers were run off by locals in East St Louis, MO, even though those on both sides were black. I have also heard of people getting beat up in mexican bars in the are of El Paso, TX. You have to be careful out there in a place you are not familiar with.

No one has a right to just decide to stomp someone's head in, and I do hope the violent offenders are apprehended and at least punished for their crimes. You cant expect some horney GI's after serving for over 1 year in Iraq in 100 degree temperatures and no chance for female companionship to be perfect angels.
