Well, those were jabs and he was clearly trying to get the perp to put his hands behind his back. They guy was resisting. The security guy would probably get bitten if he tried to get to the perp's wrists. If it takes some jabs to get the guy to stop resisting, then that's what it takes. It was not excessive. It was the bare minimum amount of force.

If I was drunk and ran around naked in the field like a dumbass, then got tackled by some guards, and was so impaired that I resisted a deserved arrest; feeling the blow to my side should make me realize that I need to cooperate before I get seriously injured.
