I don't believe that he fell in dog excrement for a second. The cops rubbed his face in it.

As for the third report, DUI at 5:21? That guy deserves to stay in prison for life.

Summary

An officer stopped the driver for speeding in the 800 block of E. San Miguel St. The driver presented a Mexican DL and Insurance card in two different names. The driver then gave several different DOB's. The officer asked for cover when the driver got agitated and attempted to get out of the car while the officer was holding the door closed. The driver continued to try to force the door open. When cover arrived, the driver was given verbal commands on what to do when he got out. When the officer opened the door, the driver physically pushed the officer out of the way and ran. Both officers pursued while giving verbal commands to the driver to stop running. The driver jumped a five foot picket fence. As the officer started over the fence with his TASER displayed, the driver squared off on the officer with his fist back and said, "This is for you, bitch." The officer deployed his TASER striking the driver in the right shoulder and right leg. The driver fell to the ground into a pile of dog excrement and was taken into custody without further incident. The driver was transported to Memorial and admitted to ICU for a medical condition unrelated to the arrest. The driver was wanted for a parole violation out of Pueblo County. He will be charged with Criminal Impersonation, DUID, Obstruction and numerous traffic charges.
UPDATE - 08/24/05 Memorial will be keeping the driver an additional day for further tests. A HOLD ORDER was placed on him and Memorial will notify the GH Division when he is to be released.
SECOND UPDATE - 08/24/05 Based on information received from hospital personnel that suspect is a flight risk, an officer was reassigned to guard duty at 1430 hrs.
Adults Arrested Daniel Ortega, age 25
