Polaroid T830 8MP Camera

Buy.com is having a big sale on it today, any thoughts? I was thinking about getting a compact but not sure about the track record of Polaroid digitals. Any advice would be appreciated.

Personally, I wouldn't touch it. 8 megapixels on a super cheap, super tiny sensor is just begging for awful picture quality and heavy noise even at ISO 100. If you really want a digital camera for under $100, I'd take a look at the Nikon CoolPix L11. The L11 isn't a "great" camera by any definition (nothing is in that price range), but it's significantly better than the Polaroid.

Thanks for the advice, looks like I'll pass on it. I'm still on the fence between compact/midsize vs great shots (mostly daytime in/outdoor shots).

I wouldn't say that would be a bad deal; Polaroid T830 8MP Camera looks neat, its PictBridge compatible and has 16Mb of internal flash memory expandable to 2gig. You may want to check out some reviews here on Polaroid T830 8MP Camera.

For that price get a Samsung S730 - if you need a cheap - good camera.

I have the S85 and while it takes nice pics on manual settings, its automatic settings are *awful*. Always washed out in daytime, always pitch black at night. ASR is a joke because it sets shutter speeds so high that your picture is always washed out.

I have actually grown fond of this camera because I only use its manual settings. But I wouldn't get it if you expect a genuine "point and shoot" experience.

And this is coming from someone who's only used a few point and shoots for his entire digital camera useage. I'm not a DSLR elitist who's just upset because it doesn't have the same features. To me it's auto settings are really almost useless.
