i have about $650.00 in paychecks coming in this week, and i'm planning on spending at most 150 or so on some sunglasses.. (yes, oakleys, and no, you cant change my mind).

is polarization worth the extra 50.00?

as of now, im considering the frogskin XX and the frogskin five 2.0s.

Yes, polarization is worth it. It will drastically reduce the amount of glare given from the road while driving, water at the lake, or even windows of buildings or passing cars. Some of those cars that have semi-dark tint on them that really reflect sun at you while driving -the ones you normally can't even look at - with polarization you can often look through those cars!

yes, its worth it.

so if im going to be doing anything around water, or using the shades while driving, or anything like that, eh?

yes. While around water or driving would be a good time to have the polarization. Just don't drop them in the lake. 🙁

i wont. if it spend 125 or 160 on a pair of sunglasses, i will fvcking guard them with my life.

Polarized sunglasses are awesome.

I'll be getting a pair of Zeal Optics sunglasses in a week or so (polarized of course) for about $65. They have a trade-in program where they give you a massive discount (off retail, but still) if you give them a pair of competitor's sunglasses. I guess we'll see how great they are in a week.

My wife just went trough this buying sunglasses. She has really sensitive eyes and decided to get some Oak's. When it came down to it, the standard Oakley lens was practically no different than the polarized. But like anything else, that was our opinion.
