If I lived in LA, I'd be there for sure. I host tourneys in Portland every other week, it seems.

heck, that's not a bad idea. only problem would be finding a venue big enough to hold everyone who is interested. would probably end up being a multi table tournament. not bad if we did set buy in with no rebuys and tourney payout for 1-5 places.

weezergirl, how do you like the kem cards? i was thinking about getting a set or two for my weekly game, but didn't know how hard they were to maintain and wash. i know they are hard to damage and/or crease, but how do they compare to a regular deck of bicycle or bee.

if one is taking place anywhere from LA to SD, i wouldn't mind going to it. try calling Dezign- she likes doing these =)

i love my kems!! I suggest you get some....they are well worth the money.

The only advice i have about them is if you are thinking of getting the styles with 2 decks make sure you pick ones that are DISTINCTLY different in color. i use 2 decks (1 is cleaned while 1 is being played) and sometimes there are mixups :( from 2 decks being on the table.

Also, I'm not sure if they sell different sized kems but the cut card i bought is wider than my kems and that's kind of annoying.

yea, they sell bridge size and poker size. bridge size being the slimmer of the two.
Standard playing cards are 3.5" long. Poker size (wide) cards are 2.5" (62mm) wide and Bridge size cards are 2.25" (57mm) wide. that's one of the things that confused me when i was looking at them on ebay. thx for the recommendation, maybe i'll pick up a set.

I love my kems. I have the bridge size arrow decks. Both are red. I dont really see why I need to open the 2nd deck since the 1st should last a long time. I highly recommend getting them. Should be the last deck of cards you buy. At least for a long time.

Anyone know what the worst charge you could get if you're busted hosting a poker tourney in LA? I doubt it would happen, but just wondering.
