So we start with $20 in chips and usually start the blinds at $.25/$.50 and then double the big blind every thirty minutes. Should this be done more aggressively?

Thanks!

With only 20 bucks? I'd say 30 minutes is just fine. Unless you want to finish a game within an hour.

It all depends on if you want a quicker game or not... If you've got one table, you could do it based on the number of hands.

Yeah, we usually do it every sixth hand.

if one table, i prefer slowly raised blinds, but raise them each time someone busts out.

that sounds too slow for me, but i guess it depends on how long you want the game to last and how aggressive your players are

Starting at that level sounds good, but I'd increase them gradually. I don't much care for ultra aggressive blind structures, it places too much emphasis on luck, rather than good play. Also depends on how many players, as in "how fast will the blinds come back around to me?". Depending on # of players, I'd do something like this

.25/.50 30 mins
.50/1.00 30 mins
.75/1.50 30 mins
1.00/2.00 20 mins
2.00/4.00 20 mins
3.00/6.00 20 mins
5.00/10.00 20 mins

Set the blinds however you want, based on # of players and how long you want the tourney to last. Check out homepokertourney.com for more info.

I think it depends on the amount of people and what type of poker you're playing. We (5-6 pple) play Hold'em NL and we usually begin raising blinds after 2 pple get busted out and then raise it again whenever someone else leaves the table.

I like this structure. The problem we run into is the blinds seem to be too small for the final too people. By switching from 30 to 20 minutes at the end, this will fix that.
