I find it easier to play from the short stack (less than 10x the BB), since there are fewer decisions. The only plays are fold or all-in. Pick two cards and go with them. Any A or K is favored over a random hand, see if he'll call and double you up. You need to play aggressively, and try to double through. This doesn't always work, but it's what I do. Better to make a stand while you still have some chips than get blinded off waiting for a monster hand.
Man.......... A K (Big Slick) is my worst hand whenever I play it
🙁
How's this....... I get suited slick............. go all in because I am short stacked........ the newbie calls me (when I mean newbie...... he did not know a full house beat a straight........ for real) he pulled pockets AA
🙁
Needless to say I was out of that game.
Other times I play A K I get crap flops like 4 7 10 and the other player pairs or trips up
😱

I just got back from a 80 person tourney a little while ago, I went out in 16th, top 12 paid. I was 4th in chips, and had pocket 10's in the big blind. Blinds were 400-800, two callers to me, I raise to 3000, one caller. Flop comes 10-9-3 rainbow. I check, trying to set a trap. It works, as he bets. I put him all in (I had him covered by 2000 or so), he calls with pocket 8's. He's dead to two runners, turn comes 7, river J, and I'm crippled. Two hands later I'm on the button with AJ of hearts, go all in, one caller, he flips J10 offsuit. He hits a 10 on the flop, no A comes, and I go from 4th in chips to out in 16th in three hands.
