If so, what kind of poker?? hold em?? omaha?? also how much $$ do u usually play?

online poker??

I usually play NL or limit hold em on party poker, been doing quite well lately.. started with 75 free money and ended up with $300.

I'm gonna try play at a real table (low limit of course). WIll play only really good hands..

I play Texas Hold 'Em two or three times a month, on Friday nights.

initial buy-in is $20, with 6-10 players... I'm usually up $20 or $30 by the end of the night, but I won't put in more than the initial $20. some guys leave down $60 or $80, and some other guys leave up a hundred.
 
I have a regular game I go to. 2-4 limit.

on occasion a friend of mine will run another game like .25-.50 no limit and I have been known to go to that.

i usually play every sunday night.

dealer calls the game and the high bet. we modified no-limit to mean chips you have on the table(except in-between), so it doesnt get too crazy. we play a little of everything:

hold em
omaha
7 stud
follow the queen
roll your own
inbetween
5 stud
5 draw
jacks or better, trips to win
screw your neighbor
3,5,7

sometimes we throw a guillotine on top of follow the queen, 7stud, or roll your own. meaning, if you take your last card, youre in to match the pot(no more betting on the last card tho, as youre basically betting the amount of the pot) to the winner. i actually think the portion the loser pays is supposed to be put into the pot for the next hand, but we like to play our way. makes it much more intense, and profitable.

were pretty lax on the buy-ins. its usually 20, and you can buy in as many times as you like. our only rule is its a gentlemans game. IE: we are all friends, so, for example, if someone shoots up 100 bucks in the first hour, they dont just run off with everyones money, but hang around and play. its usually 6-10 ppl, and big winners usually walk away with around 100.

Are there any decent online games you can play with others with fake money. Something like a java or flash plugin of some sort so I don't have to install anything. Yahoo perhaps?

I want to learn "texas hold-em" as it seems the most popular right now.

try pokerroom. no downloads, loads with java, 2000 free money a day.
 
I play biweekly tourneys, $20-$40 buyin, up to 18 people. Almost always place in the top 5, usually in the money. This is not online poker, which I refuse to play for real money, as I can't get a read on the player, with the exception of their betting style. I also play at the local casino, 4/8 or 6/12, with some 2/5 NL thrown in for kicks.
 
I play holdem on pokerroom every now and again, but I'm not quite a "Pro", just one to know the rules and how to play. A private game on pokerroom wouldn't sound too bad with a few people from AT
 
If any of you reading are thinking of joining, join Pacific Poker. It's nice and easy, and the competion ranges, with many really easy players playing on the bigger tables.
