Anyone know a place that sells the real casino quality poker chips cheap? I don't want the $10 ones at Walmart with the metal inlay. I want the medium/high quality clay chips.

Thanks.

Please. The quality is fine for home poker games. If you want real clay chips, be prepared to pay at least $1 per chip.

Not true really. They are all composite chips that feel very close to casino quality and are more than adequate for home games. Just make sure you get the 11.5g chips and you'll be very satisfied. I just picked up a 2nd 500 chip set on eBay for $45 shipped and am very happy with the quality.

If you want true clay chips, you'll pay about $1 per chip at least. They're not cheap.

i always thought heavier was better?

Different casinos have different weight chips. I believe most are at least 9 grams.

How do eBay sellers make money? are these fake chips or was the market so flooded they can buy the chips dirt cheap. I just paid $100 for a 500 set and I see the same set for $10 plus $40 shipping on eBay, I am tempted to buy them and return the $100 ones.

1. Buy poker chips
2. Get your friends to play poker
3. Win the cost of the chips back
4. ...
5. Profit!

This is ATOT. In order to get "friends" one would have to leave the house to meet other people not behind a computer.

Your theory is flawed.

11.5g is usually the standard. i got a real good set off of ebay, but shipping was insane. i think i won my auction at $36 but had to pay $27 shipping. in the end, the shipping price made sense -- those aluminum cases + the chips are HEAVY!

I bought and received poker chips thru eBay at $5 plus $40 shipping. Chips are great but the case is cheap crap. Over time the handle will break due to weight of these chips. I have no quarrels, eventually I will replace the case. However looks like the cases only listings on ebay are mostly crap.

I did look on eBay and some sets appear to have the quality chip cases, the more round and smooth case, i just didn't buy one of those.

Also, this is the 5th time I've read a poker chip thread where this was the answer. Sad really.

What?! Even the expensive places only cost $.30 per chip.
