Does anyone know if it's possible to trade pokemon from a gameboy pocket to a DS lite? I'm pretty sure it's impossible to do directly, but I'm willing to buy used gameboy advances/etc to do the trading. My GF has really fond memories of pokemon red from the gameboy pocket days, and she'd be ecstatic if I found a way to get some of her rare pokemon onto her DS lite.

Maybe you can connect to a game boy advance to trade then you can use the advance cart on the DS lite.

I'm honestly not sure how that works. I've only done Wifi trading.

You can only trade between similar games (red, blue, yellow, green) or (silver, whatever)

Gameboy Pocket to a Gameboy Advance? Yes, using a special cable.

I'm pretty sure inter-generation trading (Red/Blue/Yellow -> Diamond/Pearl, etc.) isn't possible anyways :(

Damn. She won one of the Mews in a tournament back in the day, but then her little brother erased that game in a fit. We just found out about a Mew glitch earlier tonight and now she can't stop thinking about trying to relive pokemon red.

Pre-GBA games won't even work on the DS.
And DS doesn't have a link cable anyway so it can't trade with a GBA at all.

I think it's possible to trade from some of the gameboy pokemon games to the gameboy advance ones, but using a really obtuse method, and you can't go backwards.
