Hi. I recently bought a Point of View GTX 580 from Blocket (the swedish alternative to Ebay). I bought from a somewhat shady person but the card was sealed and unused.

The card worked flawlessly until about 2 months later. All of a sudden I'd get artifacts that either forced me to restart my PC or crashed it. Whenever it'd crash i'd see artifacts as a warning and then the computer would freeze. The audio would also freeze up and leave a glitching noise, like DZZZZZZZZ. Then the screen just says "No signal detected" (Or something like that). After the PC has restarted the motherboard screen shows up with white horizontal lines all over the screen. This forces me to wait a couple of minutes before rebooting.

Anyhow, these artifacts would only occur during gaming but now they have started to show up at any time. They are just more common during gaming.

At first I thought it had something to do with heat but the artifacts show up at temps like 30 - 40 degrees celsius. I have tried raising the voltage on the card to 1050 v and 1100 v after hearing about low voltage being a problem with GTX 580's. That didn't help me out. I also tried underclocking the card but that didn't work either. I even bought case fans to improve the airflow in my case but that didn't work either. I've also tried reinstalling my drivers several times but no cigar.

During bootup and load I sometimes hear this weird buzzing noise, like something is being scrambled. Is this just a hardware problem?

I sadly cannot provide any print screens at the moment since i'm in safe mode to avoid crashes but the artifacts are usually dotted squares that show up all over the screen.

During 3 situations the screen would be all yellow after the windows logo disappeared during bootup. The screen eventually (1 minute) cleared.

I made sure everything was connected properly and tried switching PCI-E slots but that didn't help either.

I'm just trying to make it as easy as possible for you guys to help me out. If there is information missing please inform me.

Help will be appreciated :D

You've taken all the necessary troubleshooting steps, but unfortunately if a clean installation of drivers doesn't fix the issue and you've reseated/reconnected the card that pretty much leaves the card itself. If you haven't seen any temperature spikes and your power supply is working properly the only thing I can think of is faulty video ram.

This is the one issue with buying from online auction sites... no returns, but you might be able to get away with a manufacturer RMA since it's a recent card. I'd give it a shot...

Sounds like the VRAM. To isolate the card you can always try onboard graphics or an old one laying around. Sounds like RMA time if possible.
