I am looking for information explaining overclocking basically for a dummy like me. I'd like to get some links to threads or websites that explain overclocking (P4's to be exact).

You came to the right place, just look through this forum... there's a huge amount of information here if you have the time to sort through the stuff that's meaningless to you.

I'd start off saying it's spelled direction, and it's ------------> That way. If you are looking to overclock your current system, search for your motherboard model, and processor type, and see if it's even possible. If you are intending to purchase new stuff, read some of these forums to see which m/b and chip combo's are well spoken of. And always realize that a) YMMV; and b) you can fry your equipment if you are not very careful.
